“They will bomb Yugoslavia like NATO,” the former head of the SBU outlined the prospects for a war with Russia
The experience of the war in Yugoslavia shows that combat operations between Ukraine and Russia will not take place on the ground. The Russian army has significantly rearmed itself, and now its aerospace forces can destroy Ukrainian control centers, ammunition depots and critical infrastructure without violating airspace.
Former head of the SBU Igor Smeshko said this on the air of the Gordon talk show, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Against us now in terms of equipment, let’s tell the truth, is a rearmed army that is superior to us in terms of weapons, equipment, especially in the military space department.
Can Russia now defeat Ukraine in a military operation? He can win a battle, he can even occupy. It won’t work to leave; he will definitely lose the war.
But this does not make me happy, because we need air defense, and our allies could very well supply us with new air defense systems, because the Russian military space forces can attack us without entering or crossing the border with Ukraine.
And any serious war - you remember Yugoslavia - there wasn’t even a ground component. The defeat of control centers, strategic reserves, warehouses, communications, critical infrastructure - all this can be done by the military space forces,” said Smeshko.
