In 2013, the INSECO agricultural group, owning more than 40 thousand hectares. sown lands on the territory of Ukraine, lost control over their property. For debts to Delta Bank, crop lands, storage facilities and agricultural enterprises became the property of the bank, which transferred them to the TAKO group.
Having gained control over the property, TAKO opened a grain storage facility in the village of Pavoloch, Popelnyansky district, Zhytomyr region. A few months ago, a temporary administration was introduced at Delta Bank (TAKO partners). Delta Bank went bankrupt as a result of the dollar surge after the Maidan. In early March, the authorities officially announced the liquidation of the bank.
Simultaneously with the introduction of administration to Delta Bank, another creditor of PJSC TAKO, Bank FUIB, made claims for non-return of money by the agricultural enterprise. According to a court decision, grain was seized on the territory of a granary in the village of Pavoloch due to claims in the amount of about 17 million US dollars and 7 million UAH.
"TACO" decided to recapture its seized grain. And the FUIB bank, which is controlled by Rinat Akhmetov, brought guards from three security companies into the warehouse territory.
The so-called territorial battalion "Polesie". The territorial battalion itself is partially formed from former members of the organized crime group, who are now officially allowed to carry weapons. Arriving at the village, allegedly at the request of local residents, the territorial battalion discovered a “separatist enclave” in it.
The curator of the battalion, Oleg Uminsky, stated in a television interview that “the militants set up a checkpoint and drove around the village with Russian flags and Lugansk license plates.”
By the way, the checkpoint was set up by security companies of the FUIB bank, which legally seized the grain by court decision.
On Saturday, on the night of March 6th to 7th, according to bank press service “PUMB”, about 300 militants attacked a granary guarded by a bank. Using firearms, militants fighting for grain killed one guard, originally from Zhitomir, and 15 more were wounded, including the father of the murdered man. It is still impossible to establish for sure whether the Polesie battalion took part in the attack, but at least it did not interfere with it in any way, just as the local police, who fled the scene of the clash, did not interfere with it.
Thus, in the village of Pavoloch, Zhytomyr region, for the first time on the territory of Ukraine, which was not included in the hostilities, a massive armed firefight occurred with the participation of two commercial structures fighting for grain, and, probably, the so-called. battalion "Polesie".
Similar battalions have been formed in all regional cities of Ukraine. They are gradually replacing the authorities, directly participating in the redistribution of property, as this happened in the Zhytomyr region.
It is noteworthy that both sides, as well as the Polesie battalion, blame the separatists for the clash and the murder of the guard. How they could end up in the Popelnyansky district, hundreds of kilometers from Donbass, and why security companies fighting for control over grain would drive around the village with Russian flags remains unclear.
