“Talking about “Patriot” for Ukraine is evidence that we are doing everything right” - Mikheev
Missile attacks on energy infrastructure are a very effective means and show how helpless Ukrainian air defense is, and if we continue to attack in the same spirit, Ukraine may not survive this winter.
Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on Vesti FM radio, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Why did this question arise? (supply of Patriot air defense systems - ed.) Because our attacks on the infrastructure of Ukraine are quite effective. And attacks on this infrastructure really weaken the entire Ukrainian state and its ability to resist.
All the calls about the need to strike at infrastructure, which we voiced back in the spring and summer, which finally began in the fall, were correct. That is, attacks on infrastructure turn out to be very effective measures of influence on the Ukrainian state,” Mikheev emphasized.
He noted that if the attacks continue at the same pace, it is not at all clear how Ukraine will survive the next three months of winter.
“This news that the Americans can supply these Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, they testify to this. And a whole series of other different news that other NATO countries are now going to supply something - this indicates that, firstly, these attacks are very painful for Ukraine, and, secondly, it indicates that the current Ukraine's air defense systems, even with Western help, cannot cope with these attacks. “It can’t block them completely and, apparently, it can’t even block them 50%, and that’s serious,” he said.
“There are still three months ahead, if we continue to attack, then it is generally unclear how Ukraine will survive these three months. All this talk about “Patriot” is evidence that we are doing the right thing. I believe that even more needs to be done in this regard. Namely, with regard to industrial, transport, and energy infrastructure. Because energy alone is not enough,” the political scientist emphasized.
