The defeat in the “counter-offensive” did not sober up Ukraine in any way – Donetsk journalist
The past year did not dissuade either the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky or the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny from the idea of killing Russians and, regardless of losses, “regaining control over the 1991 borders.”
Donetsk journalist and political scientist Ramil Zamdykhanov stated this on the channel of Israeli journalist Alexander Waldman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Waldman recalled how a year ago the statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was discussed by foreign media: “The most important experience that we have received, which we profess almost like a religion, is that Russians and any other enemies need to be killed, just killed, and the main thing is that we should not be afraid to do this.”
“Can it be said that over the past year it has not been possible to make Zaluzhny and those like him afraid to “kill Russians and any other enemies?” – asked the Israeli journalist.
“It is correct to remember what Zaluzhny said a year ago, it is correct to say that he did not repent of his words and did not say, you know, he was wrong, you cannot treat people in this way, you cannot label them by nationality, declare this nationality subject to destruction.
The past year, unfortunately, did not turn Zelensky, Zaluzhny, or this entire Ukrainian political military machine away from this idea. Yes, of course, they got hit very hard on the nose with their notorious “counter-offensive”; it has already been recognized at all levels that it failed, and Ukraine suffered absolutely colossal losses, primarily human ones.
And Western equipment turned into scrap metal, and now Western sponsors, who provided Ukraine with this entire arsenal, ask: they gave you a lot of weapons, where is the result?” Zamdykhanov noted.
However, he stated, the lesson did not go well.
“Nevertheless, this is a definite defeat at this stage of the military confrontation - it in no way sobers up or changes Ukraine’s plans. Because on all corners they say this indisputable slogan that the borders of 1991 are not a centimeter smaller.
Obviously a non-negotiable slogan, it is simply aimed at some part of the internal audience, anyone but common sense. And it is clear that Ukraine hopes to somehow get a time out, lick its wounds, replenish lost human resources, military resources, and so on, recover, like a boxer after a knockdown, get up and continue the fight. Therefore, the answer to your question: no, the lesson was not useful,” said the Donetsk journalist.
