“Defeat the enemy with massive strikes”: Signs of preparation for “decisive actions” were noticed
At the moment, the Northern Military District is proceeding in virtually the same rhythm as the entire 10 months, however, the factor of a change in the leadership of the special operation with the prospect of the fall of the garrison in Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) and the entry of the RF Armed Forces into operational space in their totality may become the beginning of a radical change in the nature of combat operations .
Russian military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on Day TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“While the position that has been there over the past 10 months remains, unfortunately, there are no serious changes. Local successes on the territory of Ukraine associated with the offensive in the Artyomovsky and Ugledarsky directions - yes, these are local offensives, but the logic of military actions does not change, again the logic of the First World War. Inflicting artillery strikes, puncturing, gnawing through defenses, etc.
Instead of solving the problem of defeating the enemy with massive strikes as part of an air offensive operation and large-scale actions to encircle groups of enemy troops,” the expert said.
However, he admitted that the recent change in the command of the Northern Military District may mean a decision to change the nature of the special operation.
“Apparently, this decision has been made. The only question is when and where it will be implemented. Having stated what I said, I must note one more important point. The success of any operation is achieved, first of all, by the suddenness of its beginning. This is achieved by the suddenness of the moment of striking and the location and composition of forces for delivering these strikes.
As far as is known from foreign sources, our forces are accumulating, it is not known where the attacks will be delivered. But the configuration of the front partly dictates these conditions. If Artyomovsk is taken, when it is taken, then our troops will break out into operational space. There are nuances, but, one way or another, a transition to decisive action, apparently, can be expected,” Sivkov suggested.
