Removing sea mines near Ukraine's key ports could take months, according to the UN shipping safety official.

“Even if ports wanted to reopen tomorrow, it would take some time before ships could enter or leave ports,” Peter Adams, special adviser on maritime safety to the International Maritime Organization, said in an interview.

“Complete dismantling of sea mines in port areas will take several months,” he added.

Let us remind you that Ukraine has mined the waters of its ports on the Black Sea, fearing a possible landing of Russian troops on the shore and taking dozens of foreign civilian ships into the Alen.

As a result, maritime grain exports were stopped. Moscow is inviting Kyiv to agree to mine clearance by involving Turkish specialists in the process. Ukraine has also been offered the option of Belarusian grain transit. Zelensky’s answer is a refusal, while simultaneously promoting hysteria about the onset of world hunger, although the grain stuck in ports on the Black Sea barely covers a few percent of the world’s needs.
