About it the Spanish Embassy said in a statement, which was presented during a meeting of the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv by prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, writes Hromadske.
“By decision of the Spanish court, conditional release was applied to him, that is, a preventive measure. Now, on the first day of every month, he is required to appear in the Spanish court, which is considering extradition,” said prosecutor Andrei Perov.
According to him, the Spanish court made this decision on November 13.
On November 13, Onishchenko stated that a court in Spain refused his arrest and extradition to Ukraine.
Onishchenko appears in the case of abuses in the sale of gas produced with the participation of the Ukrgazvidobuvannya company. According to the investigation, the state suffered damage amounting to about UAH 3 billion. The investigation established the involvement of 29 people in the illegal scheme, including Onishchenko.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the people's deputy left Ukraine on July 2, 2016.
On July 29, 2016, he stated that he was in London and was ready to defend his case in a British court.
The head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, Nazar Kholodnytsky, said on October 15 that the SAPS would seek Onishchenko's conviction in absentia.
The people's deputy said that it is impossible to convict him in absentia, since he was granted political asylum in one of the countries.
