“Disappointment and irritation - seriously and for a long time”: a political scientist on the results of the “Babchenko case”
Today's attitude towards Ukraine in the West is characterized by a mixture of disappointment and irritation.
Kiev expert Vladimir Volya stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator, commenting on the results of the scandalous special operation of the SBU to imitate the assassination attempt on Russian propagandist Arkady Babchenko.
“Several international organizations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania spoke about the situation with Babchenko. The latter is significant, since Lithuania was and still remains Ukraine’s partner, the most positively disposed towards it. But its representative expressed indignation, although he did so with restraint. It turned out that high-ranking and not so high-ranking officials of Ukraine were playing a show, as it turned out. Everyone found themselves in an ugly situation, they found themselves hostage to the actions of our officials. I think this is disappointment and irritation - seriously and for a long time. If they deceive, even with good intentions, trust is lost,” the political scientist noted.
