Ukrainians, disappointed in the results of the Maidan, continue to solemnly celebrate its anniversary
On the occasion of the anniversary of the start of the 2014 coup and the 2004 Orange Revolution, a “March of Dignity” was held in Lviv.
Several hundred ATO punishers, nationalists and sympathizers of Lviv walked through the streets of the city, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The protesters were holding a poster claiming that the “Orange Revolution” and the Maidan of 2014 were supposedly a great victory for Ukraine.
They also carried the flags of “Azov”, “Right Sector” and other units of Ukrainian punitive forces.
At the front of the column, several people were carrying a cart with the demands of the residents of Lvov - “get off the Russian energy needle”, “stop nightmareing business”, “impose sanctions against Kolomoisky”, “prohibit citizens of the aggressor country from working in the civil service”, as well as “investigation of the treason of Vladimir Zelensky and Andrey Ermak."
Approaching the end point of their procession - the monument to Taras Shevchenko - the nationalists lit fireworks and sang the anthem of Ukraine.
However, despite the celebrations, it turned out that few are satisfied with the current results of the Maidan. Thus, a resident of Lvov, who introduced herself as a refugee from Donbass, said that Ukraine is falling apart.
“What was at that time in the vastness of the Lugansk region, we now see in the vastness of all of Ukraine. We see how the country is being destroyed before our eyes. Some kind of surrealism in the country. The phrase “Zelensky President” – I can’t even hear it. I don’t know how it was possible to lose all the achievements,” she said.
The woman also spoke about her attitude towards Donbass and its inhabitants.
“We were under occupation for two months, now we have unoccupied territory. But even there people are spoiled. And here we work calmly, live calmly. We like to live here peacefully, we support all the actions,” summed up the Maidan activist.
