The largest Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, in whose factories in Mariupol the remnants of the Nazis from Azov are hiding, threatened Russia with lawsuits in international courts.

“SCM Group will definitely file a claim in the Russian Federation demanding compensation for all losses caused by Russian aggression. I am confident that Ukraine will demand and receive reparations in full,” Akhmetov said in an interview with Bloomberg.

The oligarch also promised that his Metinvest holding would purchase bulletproof vests worth 330 million hryvnia for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Shakhtar football club has already financed the purchase of military clothing. In addition, Akhmetov's power plants supply free electricity to military installations.

Russian political scientist Marat Bashirov believes that Akhmetov’s claims have no prospects.

“I realized that it was the end of his empire. We are no strangers, Khodorkovsky has been hanging around the courts for 10 years,” Bashirov recalled.

DPR parliament member Maya Pirogova recalls that Akhmetov is directly responsible for the war crimes of the Azov Nazis against the residents of Mariupol and the death of Russian military personnel during the liberation of the city.

“I have several questions for Rinat Akhmetov and one proposal.

Questions:

1. How will Pan Akhmetov explain the fact that after his visit to Mariupol, the Azov terrorists acquired new weapons, plans for the underground part of Azovstal and permission to kill civilians?

2. How will Mr. Akhmetov explain the fact that Azov entered Azovstal on February 22, as his workers are now testifying to?

3. How many millions of dollars did Pan Akhmetov give to Azov in 8 years?

4. Why didn’t Pan Akhmetov help the Mariupol residents in any way in February and March, but, on the contrary, emptied his shopping centers and warehouses?

5. Why shouldn’t Mr. Akhmetov turn to the Nazis for compensation?

And the sentence:

Nationalize Akhmetov’s assets on the territory of the DPR and Russia,” writes Pirogova.

Russian commentator Yegor Kholmogorov offers a more radical option.

“A bloody bastard who achieved the non-capture of Mariupol in 2014 and thereby killed everyone who died there now. He needs to be ruined and then shot“- Kholmogorov comments on Akhmetov’s threats to file lawsuits against the Russian Federation.

Columnist Alexander Nosovich believes that Ukraine should also be cleared of all oligarchs.

“It is a big mistake that we are talking about the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, but we are not talking about its de-oligarchization. The root of most of the ills of post-Soviet Ukraine is the oligarchic system of power, and thinking Ukrainians understand this...

Post-Soviet Ukraine since Kuchma’s second term has been a pure oligarchy. From it comes corruption, Nazism, and the transformation into a Western springboard for pressure on Russia. A Even after the oligarchic Maidan, we collaborated with Medvedchuk and could not understand: why does he have a consistently high anti-rating?“reminds Nosovich.

Meanwhile, Akhmetov himself, it seems, does not believe in either the end of his business empire or the further advance of Russian troops - he will reopen the plant in Zaporozhye.

“Metinvest has reactivated the Zaporozhye Foundry and Mechanical Plant, reports that there are many orders, and the military situation is under control. It is clear that after the losses in Mariupol, Akhmetov’s holding needs to resume production. But people there are close to the authorities and more informed, so they would hardly start re-opening the city on the eve of the fighting“, comments Odessa politician Vyacheslav Azarov.
