Acting Dutch Defense Minister Anck Bijleveld-Schouten said she intends to discuss the incident with Russia. In her opinion, these actions “are irresponsible.”
“The frigate Evertsen has every right to sail there. There is no justification for such aggressive actions, which unnecessarily increase the risk of incidents. The Netherlands will discuss this with Russia,” Schouten said.
From the point of view of the Dutch side, by its actions Russia violated the right to freedom of navigation, as well as bilateral agreements, including the agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea, which is aimed at eliminating unsafe situations at sea.

According to his information, Evertsen tried to repeat the Defender maneuver, which led to warning bombing of the Black Sea Fleet.
