They got angry: after the Defender's prank, Russian pilots almost sank a Dutch frigate

The Dutch Ministry of Defense says Russian Su-30SMs armed with bombs and Kh-31 supersonic missiles maneuvered unsafely and simulated attacks on the frigate Evertsen as it sailed southeast of Crimea last Thursday (a day after the incident with the British destroyer "Defender")

After several hours of such maneuvers, the Dutch frigate experienced interruptions in its electronic equipment.

Unlike the British, Evertsen did not violate the Russian border, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Acting Dutch Defense Minister Anck Bijleveld-Schouten said she intends to discuss the incident with Russia. In her opinion, these actions “are irresponsible.”

“The frigate Evertsen has every right to sail there. There is no justification for such aggressive actions, which unnecessarily increase the risk of incidents. The Netherlands will discuss this with Russia,” Schouten said.

From the point of view of the Dutch side, by its actions Russia violated the right to freedom of navigation, as well as bilateral agreements, including the agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea, which is aimed at eliminating unsafe situations at sea.

“It is widely believed that the Baltic states have a “late ignition”, but the Dutch set a record. On Tuesday, making claims about last Thursday is “wild” efficiency. Apparently this “sovereign and independent” country was “politely asked” not to stand aside and join the “disgusting Englishwoman” in accusing Russia of “aggression” in the Black Sea,” a Russian Navy officer who wished to remain anonymous commented on the incident to PolitNavigator.

According to his information, Evertsen tried to repeat the Defender maneuver, which led to warning bombing of the Black Sea Fleet.

“The hysteria was created as if our planes were flying over their ship off the coast of the Netherlands, and not Russia. In practice, everything is simpler, the Dutchman followed the Englishman’s route, and in order not to tempt him to repeat the “feat” of the English sailors in violating Russian territorial waters off the coast of Crimea, they were shown an “air show”.

It seems that they understood everything correctly and did not check the strength of our borders, but “got scared” with a delay at the behest of the owners of the North Atlantic Alliance. By the way, you were right to be scared; there is no need to tempt fate. Russia is great, but we cannot retreat, Sevastopol is behind us,” the officer said.
