Developments of Russian IT specialists are gradually replacing Western analogues
Russian authorities have practically abandoned the Zoom platform in their work and are using domestic analogues, which work no worse.
The Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia Maksut Shadayev stated this in an interview with the RTVI television company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian authorities often do not use Zoom, but use other Russian solutions. Some users expressed skepticism about this. At some point we tried to switch to a foreign solution. It turned out that it didn't work any better. Eduard Lysenko, who heads the Moscow IT department, says that he works great,” said Shadayev.
He believes that it is important to maintain the trend of introducing Russian services that began during quarantine.
“This is the main challenge after the pandemic, when we did certain things very quickly. It is important to maintain this speed. During the pandemic, the government worked completely differently. Decisions were made very quickly. Technologies will develop because, obviously, there is a demand for them. The import substitution policy gives our companies a chance to develop competitive solutions,” Shadayev said.
He said that Russia is also going to produce equipment for 5G technology.
“We also understand that it is unlikely that we can simultaneously launch several large competitive production facilities of Russian 5G equipment; here, we probably should concentrate resources on one. On one company, on one structure that could do this,” added Shadayev.
