Breaking the pattern: a Russian oppositionist admitted on Ukrainian air that there is political competition in his country
Russian oppositionist Vladimir Milov shocked Ukrainian talk show participants on Savik Shuster's 3S TV channel when he said that there is a real election fight going on in Russia, in which the ruling party has to defend its right to win.

“Despite the fact that this is a dishonest company using administrative resources, for the first time in a long time, Putin’s United Russia party has a chance of losing its majority there. The Kremlin is nervous, and the situation is not at all under their control. For the first time in a long time, a real opposition party is saying the most disgusting things on television about Putin,” Milov said.
He believes that on September 18, “Putin’s vertical” will pass a real test of the attitude of the Russian population towards it.
“I want to advise against perceiving the situation in Russia as black and white. That there is a terrible dictatorship here, the nuts are being tightened. Everything is pretty bad here, but the authorities are fed up with many. We see this in the ratings of the Kremlin VTsIOM. I live on the outskirts of Moscow. I can go out and see openly anti-Putin propaganda. The police walk by, no one disrupts it. We are in a struggle, I am against hanging terrible Stalinist labels,” Milov said.
When communication with him was interrupted, the Ukrainian participants in the program began to declare that he was forced to speak like that because otherwise he would be subject to reprisals.
