Kyiv, March 20 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) - The National Bank of Ukraine classified two more banks as insolvent - Kievan Rus and Astra Bank.

As reported on the regulator’s website, the owners of PJSC Bank Kievan Rus did not take timely measures to prevent the bank from becoming insolvent.

“Taking into account the requirements of Article 76 of the Law of Ukraine “On Banks and Banking Activities”, in order to protect the interests of depositors and other creditors, the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine decided to classify PJSC Bank Kievan Rus as insolvent,” reports the NBU website .

In addition, yesterday the National Bank classified Astra Bank, which is part of the Delta banking group, as insolvent.

As PolitNavigator reported, Earlier, economist Alexander Okhrimenko said that the National Bank made a mistake by introducing a temporary administration into Delta Bank: after the collapse of Delta Bank, both state-owned banks and the entire banking system of Ukraine could collapse.
