“The CPSU was falling apart from within”: Farion makes excuses for his communist past
The scandalous nationalist, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Farion was a member of the CPSU to promote Ukrainian ideas.
She boasted about this on the Internet channel “News Factory,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Farion, a certain “teacher” called her to the CPSU, with the help of whom the ideological department turned into a linguistic department and became Ukrainian.
“At the Department of Folklore, I headed the Center for Ukrainian Studies as an administrator, I could not teach students - this is an absolute lie. And my beliefs have always been the same. And the fact that I was in this organization for a year was the request of my great teacher, as he simply said: “We will destroy them from the inside.” And they destroyed it.
Because in place of the department of scientific communism, he revived and restored the department of folklore, where we created the center of Ukrainian studies,” said the nationalist.
“He never headed this department, but he was the secretary of the party organization. But at the same time, as secretary of the party organization, he did a lot of useful things for the Ukrainian idea and published a fundamental work called “The Ideological and Aesthetic Foundations of Ukrainian Romanticism,” Farion said.
