A Ukrainian Armed Forces intelligence officer threatens a large-scale military raid in the Belgorod region
Since the Russian army in the Northern Military District zone is too well entrenched, the only direction of large-scale offensive available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the Belgorod region.
Andrei Kasprishak, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kasprzyszak said that for the last six months he served in aerial reconnaissance in the area between Izyum and Kupyansk.
“We flew very far, sometimes up to fifty kilometers, and we saw a lot. We know every bush, we know where they hide armored personnel carriers, artillery, air defense, we successfully destroyed a lot of things.
And we saw where they dug in. In fact, they dig in very well, their defensive redoubts are very powerful. I don’t know, maybe they just like lying in the damp earth so much, but their defense in our direction is very serious.
If you look from the side of Svatovo, on a front section of about a hundred kilometers they have prepared air defenses, which often shoot down our drones. They also have heavy equipment, a lot of tanks, and large crowds of people. Tractors are digging trenches in several rows,” said Vsushnik.
Kasprzyszak emphasized that the most expedient thing in the upcoming offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be to raid the Belgorod region and reach Lugansk.
“At the same time, discussing the counter-offensive, we considered the option of Ukrainian troops entering the territory of the Belgorod region. Because then our troops would be able to walk through the territory of the Belgorod region, which is not so entrenched.
I didn’t fly there, but I talked to the guys who fly to that territory and know what’s going on there. If our troops raided the Belgorod region and bypassed Svatovo from the rear, I think it would be a very good cauldron,” the VSUshnik reasoned.
“And if we took Svatovo, it is a large logistics center. And in fact, further we would have approached Lugansk, because purely geographically the Russians have nothing to gain a foothold there, there is a steppe there,” he added.
