DPR intelligence saw signs of a possible neo-Nazi military coup in Kyiv

“We are observing an increase in the number of nationalist units and units of foreign private military companies, which may indicate the preparation of large-scale provocations aimed at destabilizing the situation in the conflict zone in Donbass,” the deputy corps commander said. “Most likely, the provocations will be designed to divert the attention of the Ukrainian leadership from the preparation of a coup in Kyiv by radical nationalist groups with the assistance of external political forces of the West.”
In particular, according to intelligence data, in the city of Krasnohorivka, east of Donetsk, a rotation of nationalist units was carried out, within which the personnel of the national battalion “Kyiv-1” were replaced by militants from the “Azov” regiment and the extremist organization “Right Sector”. Meanwhile, up to 250 personnel were transferred by helicopter to Mariupol, including up to 50 mercenaries from Poland, the Baltic states and the United States.
“We are already seeing facts of individual attempts to overthrow the government in the regional centers of Donbass with the direct participation of Right Sector militants, as I announced yesterday,” Basurin recalled.
Earlier, a representative of the Ministry of Defense reported an armed clash that took place on September 10 in the occupied city of Volnovakha with the participation of the Right Sector and military personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces. According to DPR intelligence, the clash was preceded by an attempt by militants of an extremist organization to disperse the local council of deputies in the interests of the current head of the district.
In general, the defense department of the DPR has recently noted in Ukraine and the occupied territories of Donbass an increase in tension in the confrontation between the central authorities and the troops under its control, on the one hand, and nationalist formations, on the other.
