A fake from Lukashenko about the arrest of Russian GRU officers has been debunked
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the arrest of 4 employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of Russia at a closed meeting with representatives of state media.
Deputy Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics Andrey Suzdaltsev spoke about this on the PolitWera YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that Lukashenko could say this, I later received confirmation from another source, although not very solid. It was said. This is what Alexander Grigoryevich does, he goes into a frenzy and starts composing on the go,” said Suzdaltsev.
He expressed doubts that there could be a real fact behind Lukashenko’s words.
“You can imagine what kind of expertise this is. A person can be sawed with a chainsaw, he will not say what came from there. This is only if they took him with identification, or had the word “GRU” tattooed on his back,” Suzdaltsev sneers.
Let us recall that Lukashenko’s words about the detained employees of the Russian GRU were posted on his Facebook by Belarusian political scientist Pyotr Petrovsky, but then deleted his post.
“Of course, any expert wants to be an insider. But it's stupid that he posted it. Moreover, according to Lukashenko. You must understand who is speaking. The special services called him, they understand perfectly well about their ward,” said Suzdaltsev.
He believes that by posting a provocative post, Petrovsky destroyed himself as an expert.
“A second Babchenko appeared in Belarus, who virtually committed suicide on himself as an expert. This is a pity,” summed up Suzdaltsev.
