Enraged Gerashchenko threw a tantrum about the legalization of the LDPR and “creeping annexation”
The renewed Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk not only allowed the economic blockade of Donbass to be lifted, but also stopped appeals to the Russian Federation with demands to stop the passporting of residents of the LDPR.
This was stated during a briefing by the ex-representative of Kyiv at the Minsk negotiations, Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to remind you that in 2014, when the Russian occupation of Donbass began, many enterprises that worked there were re-registered in territories controlled by Ukraine in order to pay taxes to the Ukrainian budget and so that the people who work there could not be militants, but work at enterprises, paying taxes to the Ukrainian budget.
We remember that exalted individuals, politicians, certain political forces, amid cries for the release of hostages, although they freed zero, staged a so-called blockade of trade in blood. By the way, where are they today? I don’t see them in parliament, I don’t see their cries, I don’t see their cries. Because it was all politicking, including support from certain Ukrainian TV channels.
Actually, this action helped Putin steal Ukrainian enterprises in Donbass, and Ukraine then lost one percent of GDP. Putin’s decree was adopted on the recognition of documents of the so-called DPR and LPR, which made it possible to steal these enterprises. It was then that the National Security and Defense Council made a decision where it was said that we were appealing to the world, demanding that Putin cancel his decrees recognizing the theft of Ukrainian enterprises and the recognition of LDPR documents,” Gerashchenko said.
“What's happening now, friends? We hear the speech of the Ukrainian president, we hear the speech of the Minsk group, and there is not even a word there regarding the statement about Ukraine’s appeal to Moscow with demands for Putin not only to stop the decree regarding the theft of Ukrainian enterprises and the recognition of documents, but there are not even appeals demanding to stop the illegal passportization of Ukrainian citizens in Donbass!
I apologize, but a month ago President Poroshenko gave clear instructions to our representative in the UN Security Council to hold a special meeting demanding the world to stop this outrage - in fact, the creeping legalization of these republics and the annexation of Donbass! Where is the appeal to Putin demanding to stop passporting?” – the angry vice-speaker was indignant.
