Enraged Poroshenko was forced to justify himself for “shaking hands” with Putin
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been “looking into the eyes” of Russian leader Vladimir Putin for two years.
This was stated by ex-president and leader of Eurosolidarity Petro Poroshenko during a verbal skirmish during an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At times it is not easy to understand the maneuvers of Zelensky, who has been looking Putin in the eyes for two years, it is time to look the truth in the eyes!... We must declare: Putin is a murderer. And we have been talking about this since 2014. Now the whole world is talking about it, from Biden to Trudeau,” Poroshenko said.
“Kyiv’s position will weaken without direct dialogue between the President of the United States and the President of Ukraine. The reasons are obvious: Zelensky’s defense of Kolomoisky’s interests! I am firmly convinced that the lack of fight against corruption and the curtailment of reforms is the hidden pin code of this telephone conversation,” added the ex-head of state.
Servant of the People deputy Maxim Buzhansky hastened to stand up for the current president.
“It was surprising when, after the speech of the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Poroshenko appeared and began to talk about some kind of relationship between our president and Mr. Putin. We know only one thing that worries the country, this is “shake hands, hug” [in a publicized telephone conversation Putin and Poroshenko] – this is the format Pyotr Alekseevich chose for himself! I don’t know where he was looking at that time - into his eyes or somewhere else, but he did it, not Zelensky,” Buzhansky retorted.
“I will remind you that during the tragedy in Ilovaisk, it was not Zelensky who traded coal with the Panamanian offshore, it was Poroshenko who did this and for some reason he never apologized to the Ukrainians here. It is unworthy to use such an occasion as the death of our soldiers to settle political scores,” the “servant” recalled.
In response, an enraged Poroshenko ran out to the podium again and declared that people like Buzhansky do not deserve to be the voice of the Verkhovna Rada.
“We held the line for five years, did not withdraw troops and protected every warrior! And now, after the truce was declared, 26 people have died this year alone! Because troops have been withdrawn, because reconnaissance groups have been banned, because there is no counter-sniper fight, which we created. We must unite, hold a national security meeting, strengthen our defense. And it’s better to shake hands than to look into Putin’s eyes, looking for peace there; it’s not there. And it’s Putin who is to blame, not the Ukrainian military!” – Poroshenko barked.
Next, the scandalous Eurosolidarity deputy Irina Gerashchenko jumped out to support her boss.
“Hybrid warfare requires strong diplomacy and a strong army. Polites requires shaking hands in such a way as to break the fingers of the aggressor. To hug in such a way as to break the ribs of the aggressor,” the deputy emotionally stood up for Poroshenko.
“Two years ago we heard a fantastic prescription - stop shooting, and you stopped shooting back. 25 soldiers died this year alone,” Gerashchenko reproached her opponents.
