The head of the OSCE Mission, Alexander Hug, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“In Ukrainian government-controlled Sopino, members of the mission’s patrol saw about 40-50 residents (of different age groups, more than half of whom were women) arguing furiously with 10 members of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the mission’s press service reported.
As the monitoring mission clarified, local residents were outraged that Ukrainian soldiers were building a dugout on the territory of the village, the PolitNavigator correspondent clarifies.
“The SMM saw a freshly dug dugout, which was located approximately 20 meters from the nearest house. After the military personnel left the area, observers saw several local residents using shovels to fill it up,” the press service added.
