The sociological company Millward Brown conducted a survey. According to the survey, 41% of Poles aged 18 to 34 want to emigrate from the country. According to sociologists, the so-called the second wave of emigration, when citizens want to leave the country not only because of the desire to live better and earn more, but also in search of a better education, a more comfortable place of residence. In turn, Poland has issued about 1 million work and student visas for Ukrainian citizens over the past year.
During the period since Poland joined the European Union, at least 580 thousand Poles left the country abroad in a very short period of time. A particularly large number of Poles live in London, and Polish is one of the most commonly used languages there in everyday life after English. In 2013, almost 2 million Poles were already registered as emigrants. According to the European Commission, on average a Pole spends 10 years in exile.
