“Guys, the games are over” - Akhmetov received the last warning from Moscow
The latest Russian sanctions against a number of Ukrainian politicians and businessmen are addressed primarily to oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the Internet channel “Topinform”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“A very simple logic is that: “Guys, the games are over, sitting on two chairs with one butt will no longer work.” Political games are when they say that we are for peace and want to cooperate with Russia, and promote Lyashko on our channels, as Rinat Akhmetov does. You can’t say at the same time that we will support Vilkul and promote Lyashko. This is an obvious game in favor of Poroshenko. Moscow says: “Agree on a single candidate, otherwise you are our enemies, you are simply working against us,” Pogrebinsky said.
“Why weren’t sanctions imposed against Akhmetov then?” the presenter asked the political scientist.
“We touched people who said: “As Akhmetov said, so it will be.” They make it clear to Akhmetov that if you change your mind and you come to an agreement, we will lift all sanctions. I must change my mind, realizing that you need to choose, either you are with Petya, who is with Pompeo, or against them and with us. Akhmetov’s position is such that he is satisfied with Poroshenko as president and can more or less be satisfied with Tymoshenko, but he is categorically not satisfied with Firtash’s man, with whom he is in a real business war,” explained Pogrebinsky.
