US President Joe Biden visited Poland today and spoke in one of the squares in the city of Rzeszow. This is approximately 170 kilometers from Lviv, where oil depots were hit today by Russian Kalibr missiles.

"Thank you thank you thank you. Please take your seats if you do not want to go up on stage. It's a great honor to be here, Mr. President. Where are you? Here you are. Thank you,” Biden began, addressing his Polish colleague.

US President Joe Biden visited Poland today and spoke in one of the city squares...

It was announced that the American president would make a “strong” statement on Ukraine, but nothing fundamentally new was said. Biden began with a lengthy excursion into the history of the “fight against communism” in Europe and said that the current struggle against authoritarianism in the world will be just as long. At the same time, Ukraine should be consoled by the fact that the West is with it, “and that’s it.”

“The struggle for democracy did not end with the end of the Cold War. Over the past 30 years, the forces of autocracy have resurfaced around the world. They despise the rule of law and democratic freedoms. They despise truth itself. And today Russia is trying to strangle democracy not only in Russia, but everywhere. Under the pretext of ethnic solidarity, they threaten neighboring countries. Putin has set a goal for himself that he will not achieve. It's cynical, it's untrue, it's indecent. President Zelensky, a democratically elected president, is Jewish. His family fled the Holocaust. And Putin has the audacity to believe that whoever is strong is right. But former President Lincoln argued that truth stands," Biden said. without realizing that he is quoting the cult Russian film “Brother-2”.

He assured the public that “Russia is lying,” that the United States does not intend to destabilize the expansion of NATO, “this purely defensive alliance,” and lamented that Putin’s long persuasion had yielded no results.

The real fight “against Russian aggression,” judging by his words, comes down only to sanctions, among which the American president especially noted the confiscation of yachts of Russian oligarchs.

“Within days of this invasion, we imposed harsh sanctions against the Russian Central Bank, which is now unable to participate in the global financial system. We struck at the very heart of the Russian economy by stopping energy exports. The United States applied sanctions against 148 Russian oligarchs and seized their property
oh, their luxury yachts and their houses. Now they must experience this pain,” Biden boasted.

He also noted the departure of 400 Western companies from Russia, naming only one “McDonald’s”.

“As a result of these unprecedented sanctions, the ruble has practically depreciated. This is true. Now it is 200 rubles for one dollar. GDP will soon be halved,” Biden again received applause.

The public was not interested in the fact that the current exchange rate of the ruble was less than 95 per dollar, and the American president continued his revelations. He said that "the Russian economy was one of the largest before the invasion" but would soon not be in the top 20. Those gathered continued to applaud, although probably just a month ago many of them liked to say that the Russian economy was weaker than the Californian economy.

“Only Putin is to blame for this, period,” Biden slammed the podium.

He spoke about the assistance that the West is providing to Ukraine, but at the same time promised to protect only the territory of NATO countries.

“We will do everything to ensure that the deep melancholy leaves the souls of refugees from Ukraine,” Biden said. mentioning Mariupol, which he called “Metropol”.

The US President noted that “given Putin’s cruelty, this war is a deep strategic failure for Russia.”

“Putin thought that Ukrainians would not fight for their country. Instead, the Russian military was met with courage and grit. And instead of splitting NATO, they made it stronger and more united than ever. We see the presence of more than 100 thousand troops on the border of front-line states. Russia is promoting something that it did not strive for. Democracy is being revived around the world. Russia’s actions in Ukraine remind us of the blessings of democracy with which we live,” Biden consoled the Ukrainians as best he could.

This was followed by a passage about the lack of democracy in Russia, from which, according to Biden, many citizens have fled over the past month. He addressed the Russians and recalled the siege of Leningrad, comparing it with current events.

“You are better than this war. The American people are with you and with the courageous citizens of Ukraine,” Biden said.

Then came an unexpected logical transition - Biden called on Europe to switch to renewable energy sources.

“We cannot allow a tyrant to dictate his terms. The addiction must stop,” Biden said.

He also called for fighting “the corruption that comes from the Kremlin.”

“We will incur certain costs and losses. But the darkness that autocracy spreads will not overcome our inner light, our determination. This is the task of our generation. A dictator who seeks to restore a long-gone empire will not achieve his goal. He will not be able to maintain victory over our fortitude. This man cannot remain in power. God bless you,” Biden concluded his speech pathetically.

The speech of the American president disappointed Ukrainian patriots.

“It’s very easy to speak in Warsaw and call not to be afraid. While our guys are fighting for the whole world, fucking Muscovite missiles are flying over our houses, and half of our children were forced to go abroad.

And we continue to fight... It’s only after the speech that I understand that we will continue to fight ourselves.

I would love for Biden to say in this speech that the world is ready to share our struggle. Not with words of support, but with specific actions. Even if not by direct participation in this civilizational war, but at least by adequate support for the army.

But I didn't hear it.

The most optimistic part of the speech is the statement that Putin cannot continue to remain the leader of Russia. But it sounded more like a wish, rather than a concrete plan.

Unfortunately,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Inna Sovsun laments in her blog.
