Poroshenko’s speech during his visit to the USA: in Kyiv they are already twisting their finger to their temple
Petro Poroshenko, during his visit to the United States, once again called on Western businessmen to invest money in the Ukrainian economy. Kiev economist Alexander Okhrimenko sarcastically commented on the words of the head of state.

“I wish that one day the headlines in newspapers about Ukraine will not be about shelling in Donbass, but about opportunities for international business in eastern Ukraine, including in Ukrainian Crimea. Now is the right time and place to invest in Ukraine,” Poroshenko said in America.
His words provoked a caustic reaction from the Ukrainian economist Okhrimenko. According to the expert, in the two and a half years that have passed since the victory of Euromaidan, not a single foreign investor has entered Ukraine.
“Since the spring of 2014, both Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk have been calling on American investors to invest in Ukraine,” the analyst recalled.
“For a real American investor, it doesn’t matter... the size of the investment, he is only interested in the presence in a particular country of investment objects that can generate income. Investors first determine what investment property they need, and then search for it in all countries of the world,” he added.
Okhrimenko explained that today Ukraine, where the war continues, simply does not have assets that could be attractive to real large investors.
“Ukraine cannot now offer foreign investors anything from investment properties. All these factories are not interesting for privatization. They are also not interested in old machine-building, chemical and metallurgical plants. We simply do not have any interesting investment properties. That’s why investors don’t even consider Ukraine,” the expert believes.
