This time, the former law enforcement officer got burned by selling a pistol and an AKM-74 assault rifle with ammunition for almost 30 thousand hryvnia. Another pistol was found on him during a search of his apartment.
As often happens in Ukraine, SBU officers became aware of the impending transaction from the buyer, who stated not for reasons of civic duty, but because the buyer of the weapon owed a significant amount of money to the seller and in this way decided to defer payment of the debt for a period until his friend will be in prison.
However, the court spoiled the prospects for the “conscious” citizen by imposing a sentence of three years in prison with a probationary period of 2 years. The debt will have to be repaid, and considerable “interest” will probably be accrued.
