Referendum and the Korean scenario, – Arakhamia on the scenario for ending the war
Ukraine is now in an unfavorable negotiating position, so the leadership is determined to continue fighting.
This was stated on the 1+1 TV channel by the head of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations, the head of the Servant of the People faction in parliament, David Arakhamia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arakhamia, going to negotiations now means for Kyiv to agree with the current demarcation line. The best option, in his opinion, is the Korean scenario, when the parties did not sign any peace agreement directly, but the fighting ended. This scenario must be approved by the population in a referendum.
“Now the entire leadership of Ukraine, both political and military, is about fighting. Why? Because we cannot sit down at the negotiating table now; our negotiating position is very bad.
What are we going to sit down to now - where we are staying, let's just finish? Do you think that Ukrainian society will accept it?
In general, I believe that no matter how the war ends, apart from complete victory, everything else should go through a referendum.
If this, perhaps, will be an organic completion, like in Korea, where nothing was signed, then it is possible. And if someone signs something, and then it needs to be ratified in parliament, then parliament will simply kill each other, there will be very polar views.
I believe such things should only be done through a referendum. When the people say that this is necessary, then I will vote without looking. I’ll just put my opinion away and do as the people say. And if they say: “Deputies, decide,” I don’t feel the strength to decide and, especially, to agitate someone for something, because this is an individual question for everyone,” Arakhamia said.
