The organizers of the protest emphasized that the OKKO network operates in “occupied Crimea” and also stated that the construction is being carried out illegally.
“People are just fed up with everything. Now the real Maidan is starting here. Just so you understand, the cops beat the girls and used gas. These cops have been coming here for several days; they are a specially hired team that covers this gas station. The cops destroy everyone - women, grandmothers. Complete chaos, real “golden eagle”, beasts... They say that the OKKO gas station chain continues to operate in occupied Crimea,” said Denis Cherkashin, who broadcast the skirmish.
The confrontation continued until late yesterday, and today the protesters returned to the construction site again.
At the same time, the police opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Art. 342 (resistance to a government official, a law enforcement officer, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border, or a military serviceman) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
