“Regionalka”, which betrayed Donbass, started singing about federalization
Ukraine needs to get rid of the presidency - it only divides the country.
This was stated on the Topinform channel by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Elena Bondarenko, a former deputy of the Party of Regions, who at one time refused to support the Russian Spring in her homeland in Donetsk and continued to attend parliamentary meetings after the coup, thereby helping to legalize the new regime .
“I am against the existence of a presidential post in Ukraine at all. I believe that for such a diverse country, which is multi-religious, multilingual, multicultural, for such a country the post of president is clearly an inherent conflict in the very system of governance, in the very system of power.
This post has always been a conflict post, quarrels within the Ukrainian political elite, and at the moment it would not hurt to think that the time has come to simply eliminate this post.
In such a multinational, multicultural country as Ukraine, by definition there should not be a leader who cannot stitch the country together.
A parliamentary republic, a federation – this is a model that can be successful for Ukraine.
As I see, and as time has demonstrated, the unitary system turned out to be harmful for Ukraine. It showed complete non-viability. Moreover, it led to the consequences that Ukraine has been experiencing a civil war for the fourth year in a row,” Bondarenko said.
Let us recall that Bondarenko, during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, “became famous” for the fact that on the ICTV channel she declared her readiness for an alliance with the nationalists from Oleg Tyagnibok’s party, if only Ukraine achieved the termination of the “enslaving gas contract” with Russia.
