Italian regions ask for Russian vaccine
The Russian Embassy in Italy receives numerous requests from Italian regions and companies with proposals for the production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Italy Sergei Razov announced this at a conference in TASS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We hope for the speedy completion of the consistent examination procedure at the EMA without politicization and unnecessary bureaucracy. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated the importance of joining forces and developing international cooperation in the fight against the new infection. This is also very relevant in the context of Russian-Italian interaction.
If there is a demand, we are ready to supply the Russian vaccine, organize its production on Italian territory, and develop cooperation in the field of joint research.
At the same time, I want to especially emphasize and repeat what the President of Russia said - we are not imposing anything on anyone. The embassy receives numerous requests from Italian regions, private companies, organizations, individuals with requests for the acquisition and proposals for the production of Sputnik for Italian citizens.
Our position is as transparent as possible, we have repeatedly stated it: we are open to all mutually acceptable forms of cooperation, with the understanding that relevant requests must come through official government channels. We categorically would not like to introduce any elements of dissonance into the relations between the central government and individual regions of Italy,” the diplomat said.
Thank you!
