“The Mejlis is an elected representative body of the Crimean Tatar people. Registration in the form of a public association or movement is unacceptable. A reference to the fact that there are no analogues on the territory of the Russian Federation, therefore it supposedly does not comply with the law, I think that there were not many analogues before these changes, in particular in Crimea. Therefore, the only acceptable form is recognition of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people and its elected structures, only they can speak on behalf of the people,” the politician noted.
In his opinion, the authorities of the Republic of Crimea should resume dialogue with the representative body of the Crimean Tatars.
“I think that when it comes to the indigenous people, the realization of their legal rights in their historical homeland, there is no need to wait until the end of the year. I think that the dialogue with the Majlis needs to be resumed immediately, first of all, to ensure the safety of our people, so that people do not disappear, so that searches and “horror stories” do not take place, so that the people can peacefully exist in their homeland, develop and ensure the implementation of their legal is right,” added Akhtem Chiygoz.
Let us recall that earlier the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sergei Aksenov, said that he would not communicate with the Mejlis until this national body registers in the Russian Federation.
