Racketeering and Russian passports: There is a scandal in the Rada over the new deputy head of foreign intelligence
Deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Sergei Semochko owns luxury real estate worth 200 million hryvnia, and his family long ago received passports from the “aggressor country.”
This was stated by MP from Batkivshchyna Igor Lutsenko during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us note that earlier the YouTube channel “Bihus info” published an investigation according to which Sergei Semochko, whom Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko appointed first deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service on July 31, previously served in the Crimean SBU, and his common-law wife Tatyana Lysenko and seven other family members received Russian passports after the peninsula came under Russian jurisdiction.
“I, together with several colleagues, on the initiative of Andrei Beletsky, have just signed an appeal to President Poroshenko and the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine regarding the scandal that has grown since October 2 of this year in connection with quite interesting facts about the biography and property status of one of the heads of the Service foreign intelligence.
I think that there should not be a single person left in this country who does not know about this glaring fact. When, during a war, a person whose family owns Russian passports is appointed one of the heads of foreign intelligence. A person is appointed who owns several, of unknown origin, elite houses near Kiev, worth, as journalists have calculated, about 7-8 million dollars. This is 200 million hryvnia! This is the budget of a small city, which is now at the disposal of just one head of the law enforcement agency.
A rhetorical question, actually, what is our Foreign Intelligence Service, in particular, and the Security Service of Ukraine in general, doing now? It is clear that they are not engaged in defending us from Russian aggression, from foreign intelligence services. They are engaged in increasing their luxury housing, building their fortune, and this is all done primarily through business racketeering, through these custom-made criminal cases, searches, and procedural illegal actions. Through this all banal, excuse me, racketeering, which is now the main activity of our law enforcement agencies subordinate to President Petro Poroshenko,” the people’s deputy was indignant.
Let us recall that earlier PolitNavigator cited a statement by former SBU speaker Stanislav Rechinsky that the Verkhovna Rada wants to legislate classify tax returns of Ukrainian security forces and prohibit their inspections under the guise of secrecy.
It was also previously reported about the conflict between the head of the SBU Anatoly Gritsak and Sergei Semochko, who, according to some sources, bought himself the position of deputy chairman of the SBU in the Presidential Administration.
