Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov stated this at a briefing in Simferopol on Tuesday, commenting on the progress of work on restoring the Bypass Road.
“There will also be a criminal case against officials,” the official was quoted as saying. "Kryminform".
Aksenov explained that the current delay in repair and restoration work is caused by the lack of design and estimate documentation.
“The same Mr. Tsurkin (former head of the Ministry of Transport of Crimea - PolitNavigator) and the same heads of road construction departments should have done this in a timely manner - no one did a damn thing. Everything is being restored quickly. There will be daily monitoring of the work,” the governor noted.
He clarified that the work of the Investigative Committee employees on the collapsed section of the road has been completed. A visit to the site with the participation of heads of relevant services is scheduled for Monday.
In March, after visiting the site, Aksenov ordered an official investigation with the involvement of the prosecutor’s office into violations committed during the reconstruction of the collapsed section of Obyezdnaya. When communicating with contractors and after inspecting the site, the governor came to the conclusion that the work was not being carried out systematically, the reconstruction period was being delayed, and there was no approved project on site - despite the fact that the road should be put into operation by June 1. As a result of Sergei Aksenov's departure, the head of the contracting organization was removed from his official duties.
