The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Maxim Sokolov, announced this on Monday at a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the work of the crossing, the website of the Unified Transport Directorate reports.
At the meeting, issues related to the reconstruction of ports were discussed: strengthening and expansion of berths, dredging work in port waters. At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Transport noted that the work should be carried out not on days of peak load, but when the flow of tourists begins to decrease, in order to avoid violating the crossing capacity.
“I think that the most suitable time for this is September. At the same time, employees of the Unified Transport Directorate, together with colleagues from Rosmorport, must think through the optimal scheme for the movement of ferries using the Kerch fishing port,” said Mikhail Sokolov.
