Court decision: Aksenov was not a member of the Salem organized crime group
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, won a claim for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation for 900 thousand rubles.
This amount will be paid to him equally by blogger Ilya Bolshedvorov and the publication “Notes”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
The claim was considered by the Belogorsky District Court, where Aksenov filed a claim after six publications were posted on the Internet by the blogger and the publication “Notes” (with a link to the blogger) of four more publications. In the lawsuit, the head of the republic indicated that the published materials were untrue and contained defamatory information about him.
Following the trial, the court came to the conclusion that the claims were subject to partial satisfaction.
“The blogger is obliged to remove publications posted on the Internet containing defamatory information about the plaintiff, publish a refutation and pay the plaintiff 450 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage,” the court’s press service reported. “The Limited Liability Company “Notes” is obliged to remove publications posted on the Internet containing defamatory information about the plaintiff, publish a refutation and pay the plaintiff 450 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage.”
Aksenov went to court back in 2018 regarding Bolshedvorov’s publications on social networks, which dealt with the alleged criminal past of the current head of Crimea and his participation in the Salem organized crime group. Since the current head of Crimea has not been brought to justice for participation in organized criminal groups, he considers such statements to be slander. In the lawsuit, Aksenov indicated that he was asking to recover moral damages from the blogger and oblige him to transfer them to the “Republican Social Rehabilitation Center for Minors.”
