By the decision of the Rada, punishers of volunteer battalions will teach at Ukrainian military universities
Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis a bill according to which, in their opinion, all participants in the fighting in the Donbass, including nationalists from punitive battalions, will be able to teach at military universities in Ukraine, which will “bring the country closer to NATO standards.”
The parliament voted virtually unanimously for the draft law in the first reading, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Presenting the document, Servant of the People deputy Irina Vereshchuk stated that the purpose of the bill “on amendments to some laws of Ukraine on military education and science” is “to improve the learning process in higher military educational institutions.”
“In order to fulfill the requirements of the provisions of Article 15 of the Law on National Security of Ukraine, regarding the determination of the foundations of military personnel policy and training of personnel for the implementation of defense planning activities, it is decided that the level of military education - operational-tactical and operational-strategic, after receiving the force of this law, is equal to to the level of military education - operational and strategic, respectively. They will be identical to the level of military education of NATO member countries,” Vereshchuk announced.
In turn, the ex-head of the SBU, and now a Rada deputy from Batkivshchyna, Valentin Nalyvaichenko, said that thanks to the adoption of such provisions, absolutely everyone who participated in the hostilities in the Donbass will be able to teach at military universities.
“It’s time to use the experience of repelling Russian aggression in our Ukrainian military education. It’s time to make it so fair that everyone who defended on the front line, from volunteers to specialists of our Armed Forces, will have the opportunity to teach at higher and other military institutions for our defenders.
It’s time to do this so that in each of the 12 universities, in each of the 31 military departments, such specialists have the opportunity to both teach and increase our defense capability.
So, it is very important to do as it is done in NATO member countries - tactical, operational and strategic military education, this is what the state takes care of and the parliament takes care of,” Nalyvaichenko said.
331 deputies voted for the bill, not a single parliamentarian pressed the “against” button.
