Republika Srpska wants to recreate its own army
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik announced that the Republika Srpska withdraws its consent to the formation of a unified armed forces of BiH and the Supreme Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VJTC).
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will withdraw our consent to the agreement on the army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Dodik said. “And we want to propose forming the army of the Republika Srpska within a few months.” In violation of the army law. But according to the Constitution, and there is no place in the world where the law tries to nullify the Constitution…. And the Constitution of BiH states that the Republika Srpska has its own army.”
The leader of the Bosnian Serbs called for consensus in the People's Assembly of the Republika Srpska on these and other issues important to the Bosnian Serbs, including decisions of the Supreme Representatives imposed contrary to the Constitution. According to him, the consensus must be substantial, there must be a tough position on decisions of the High Representatives that do not comply with the Dayton Agreement. He pointed out that everything in the RS is problematic in this regard, citing the example of the last case with the law on forests and the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH on this law, which deprives the RS of its own forests in favor of the authorities of Sarajevo.
It should be noted that through the actions of the Western overseers of BiH - the Supreme Representatives - the RS was deprived of about seventy rights that belonged to it, according to the Dayton Agreements and the Constitution of BiH, including the right to its own armed forces. Today, their functions are partly performed by the gendarmerie of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, created two years ago thanks to the persistence of Milorad Dodik and in response to constant threats from Sarajevo politicians and Islamic radicals.
