The leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, said that the RS budget will not pay for the municipal fantasies of the entity that won the elections for the mayor of the capital - Banja Luka, the pro-Western politician-blogger Drasko Stanivukovic.

At the same time, Dodik’s patriotic Union of Independent Social Democrats still retains a majority in the city Assembly.

According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Milorad Dodik said that funding for Banja Luka from the republican budget will be stopped after victories in the mayoral elections of the pro-Western protege, the Serbian “Navalny” - 27-year-old Drasko Stanivukovic. The Serbian member of the BiH Presidency and leader of the Union of Independent Social Democrats promised at a press conference that his party, which retained its majority, would not initiate a change of mayor, at least in the first year of his tenure. But at the same time, no initiative of the new mayor will be supported “in the dark,” by default.

“He has his own powers, he represents the city, let him try, work,” Dodik noted. “He promised that both pensioners and schoolchildren would receive free travel on public transport. We will immediately support this decision, but we will see how it is financed, we will see how it will subsidize the city heating that we have financed for many years. Why should we do this, we have other municipalities that need help?

Previously, the “fighter for justice” Stanivukovic, the scion of a family of wealthy Serbian emigrants living in Europe and a businessman, had already been accused of paying his hired workers meager wages. Now, it seems, he will have to show the naive townspeople who trusted him that they are willing to invest their own millions in the city’s infrastructure.

Let us recall that at one time Stanivukovic waved the NATO flag in parliament, despite the fact that the alliance bombed the Serbs.
