The Republics of Donbass begin helping all Russians of Ukraine
The leaders of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics decided to expand Humanitarian program for the reunification of the people of Donbass, including in it the protection of all Russians and Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine. Now they can also count on free medical care, admission to educational institutions, etc.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the “Russian Donbass” forum, together with the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik, we decided on the need to strengthen efforts to support our compatriots living in the territory controlled by Ukraine and expand the Humanitarian Program for the reunification of the people of Donbass. Now its effect will extend to Russians and Russian-speaking citizens throughout Ukraine,” he wrote.
Denis Pushilin emphasized that such a decision was dictated by increased repression in Ukraine.
“This intention is dictated, first of all, by the awareness of the complexity of the situation in which Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine find themselves. Teachers are losing their jobs, children are afraid to communicate in their native language. Discrimination is growing in all spheres of life, not excluding the everyday level. The persecution of those who continue to defend their rights to speak Russian is intensifying, and bills to infringe on their rights are being considered.
We have no moral right not to lend a helping hand. Measures to support Russian and Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine are defined in terms of the practical implementation of the “Russian Donbass” doctrine, a document whose provisions reflect the most important issues of the residents of Donbass and determine the vector of our development,” the head of state added.
According to him, the directions of the Humanitarian Program will remain unchanged - we are only talking about its expansion.
“In particular, support will continue for residents of the part of the Donetsk People’s Republic temporarily controlled by Ukraine who find themselves in a difficult life situation. Particular attention will be paid to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Their powerless situation and the growing aggression on the part of Ukrainian radicals cause justifiable indignation among the entire thinking part of the world community. We are also obliged to help teachers of Russian language and literature who, while upholding our common values, are forced to endure humiliation and overcome hostile attitudes. The issue of supporting citizens who find themselves in difficult life situations due to Russophobic sentiments is being considered.
There are also conditions for obtaining secondary and higher professional education in institutions of the Republic, free medical care, providing legal support", added Pushilin.
