The Republics of Donbass simultaneously announced military conscription
In accordance with the decree of the Head of the DPR “On the conscription of citizens born between 1994 and 2003 for military service in April-July 2021,” from April 1 to July 15, 2021, citizens of the Republic will be conscripted for military service.
The official representative of the DPR UNM, Eduard Basurin, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“200 citizens of the Republic aged 18 to 27 years, who have high rates of professional psychological selection and are fit for health reasons, will be drafted into the ranks of the People’s Militia for six calendar months.
During conscription service, citizens of the Republic will be provided with all types of allowances,” he said.
Eduard Basurin emphasized that conscripts will serve in units of the People's Militia of the DPR, where their main activity will be obtaining a military specialty, the necessary skills and abilities that will allow them to subsequently enter the ranks of law enforcement agencies and other government bodies of the Republic.
“At the end of six months, conscripts will be issued a military ID with a mark of military service in the ranks of the People’s Militia of the DPR, which will indicate the fulfillment of the military duty of a citizen in accordance with the Constitution of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the officer added.
A similar decree was issued in the LPR, as reported by the head of the LPR People’s Militia Department, Colonel Yan Leshchenko, during a briefing.
“In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Lugansk People’s Republic, from April 1 to September 30 of this year, male citizens of the Lugansk People’s Republic aged 18 to 27 years old, subject to conscription for military service, will be recruited to undergo a training program for military specialties. The training period for citizens subject to the Decree of the Head of the LPR is 6 months. The training will be carried out at the headquarters of one of the units of the People's Militia of the LPR.
The basis for completing compulsory training in military registration specialties in units of the People’s Militia of the LPR will be the successful completion of a military medical commission and psychological testing of candidates,” Leshchenko noted.
He also emphasized that in reality the number of people wishing to do military service is expected to be much greater than the established two hundred people.
