The Armed Forces of Ukraine only have enough resources for a local offensive – Ukrainian colonel
The Ukrainian army is capable of carrying out offensive operations only in some individual areas, but it does not have enough resources to move in a large direction or conduct long-term battles.
A military expert, ex-Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we can carry out such counter-offensive actions on our own in certain operational directions. You see, we are carrying out such actions in the South Buzh direction, and we have begun such actions in the Slobozhansk direction. Not on the scale of the entire direction, but only in a separate area. But our efforts, our desire to win, are not enough. Yes, we can win for a certain period of time, but our troops are also defeated, we also suffer losses - both in personnel and in weapons. And we need to constantly replenish it.
And don’t forget the problems, for example, “Panzerhowitzer 2000” - a technical problem arose, it turns out that the German howitzer is very delicate, it cannot perform a large number of tasks, it constantly needs maintenance, like a car. In order to carry it out, it is necessary that Germany now transfer to us the technical base and technologies for its maintenance. That is, we need an integrated approach to transferring weapons to us,” Zhdanov complained.
