“Revolution of Dignity” nullified the observance of basic rights of Ukrainians
One of the biggest problems for residents of Ukraine is the violation of their socio-economic rights, incl. the right to a decent standard of living, and the situation here only worsened after Euromaidan.
Bogdan Kriklivenko, co-founder of the Ukrainian Institute for Human Rights, former head of the Secretariat of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, stated this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainians consider the violation of their socio-economic rights one of their biggest problems. This is expressed in insufficient living standards, the ability to receive decent wages for one’s work, certain problems with growing wage arrears and a lack of jobs, etc. The observance of socio-economic rights is of great concern to Ukrainian society. The number of problems in this area is consistently high. There is a global challenge here that cannot be solved quickly. But you have to demonstrate at least something. But Ukrainians believe that since the Euromaidan the situation in the field of socio-economic rights has really worsened,” he said.
