The Poroshenko regime thwarted the appeal in the case of Vasily Muravitsky
Today in Zhitomir, a meeting of the appeal court, which was supposed to consider the petition of the lawyers of the arrested opposition journalist Vasily Muravitsky to change the preventive measure, was disrupted.
Andrey Gozhy, the lawyer of the journalist accused by the SBU of treason, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.

“There is an official reason for the transfer, and there is a real one. The materials of the criminal case did not arrive at the court. What does it mean? The appeal court and the district court, which took Vasily into custody, are located in the same city, 15-20 minutes walk from the appeal court. And during the time that we were waiting for the trial, we could have gone on foot and picked up the case.
What is this connected with? Why do you need to delay the matter? I promised to prove that in the case of Vasily Muravitsky the European Convention on Human Rights was violated when a preventive measure was chosen for him.
Accordingly, I stated that if today a decision is made by the court of appeal that does not overturn the decision of the district court, then literally within a few days I will file an application with the European Court of Human Rights.
And, since at the moment there is no final decision, my hands are tied in terms of filing a claim with the ECHR. Accordingly, Vasily will await trial in a pre-trial detention center. That is, in essence, this is an artificial delay in the process,” the human rights activist noted.
