Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, told Politnavigator about this, commenting on the intention of the Ukrainian authorities to cancel direct passenger rail service with the Russian Federation.
“Ukraine is turning into a European North Korea. The regime is pupating so as not to experience any influence from the outside. The regime is obviously losing political stability, and citizen discontent is growing. Any communications between Russians and Ukrainians, in the opinion of Poroshenko and other ideologists of the regime, are dangerous for the existing government,” Korotchenko said.
At the same time, trips of Ukrainian citizens to Russia, the expert believes, carry the same danger as Russian social networks: they provide objective information about the situation.
“Workers are initially viewed as politically unreliable for Ukraine, since they work in Russia, receive money here and are breeding grounds for ideas unfriendly to the regime. They come from Russia and say that the attitude towards Ukrainians here is normal. They portray us as cannibals,” Korotchenko said.
