Since Ukraine, despite the agreements reached, continues massive shelling Donbass and throws bringing military equipment into the conflict zone, the ceasefire can be considered invalid.

Rodion Miroshnik, special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, said this during a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Today, the number of shellings has increased five to six times. Heavy weapons are used. Artillery was already used, in addition to grenade launchers and mortars. Already partisan versions of the Grads were used. Residential areas and residential areas are being shelled, and there are dead and wounded.

Therefore, to say that the ceasefire remains in place... I don’t know, those who like it continue to talk. But in fact, there is a fact that there is no understanding of where the ceasefire exists and where it is completely violated and trampled. As of today, the OSCE SMM, there is a figure, is already approaching 12 thousand violations, since July 22, 2020. Therefore, from my point of view, there is no reason to say that the ceasefire remains in effect.

We provide complete statistics - over the past XNUMX hours there were about a hundred arrivals in the LPR and DPR, this is a joint figure. Then the massive movements of equipment recorded by the OSCE SMM are recorded at railway stations - these are dozens of tanks, all kinds of howitzers, anti-aircraft guns, even Bukov missiles,” Miroshnik said.

He was supported by the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry, Natalya Nikonorova, who also spoke about the aggravation on the front line.

“It is indeed a very tense situation. In ten days of March, 32 ceasefire violations have already been recorded, 17 of them with the use of heavy weapons. These are 120 and 82 caliber mortars, and Grad.

By the way, “Grad” was last used in 2018. And for the first time in such a long time, on March 4, Ukraine again used this particular installation on the outskirts of the city of Donetsk. It was only by luck that civilian casualties were avoided, because the apartment building where the families were was damaged - it was early in the morning, there could have been casualties. I think Ukraine was counting on this,” the diplomat said.

She emphasized that Ukraine is not even trying to conduct a dialogue and come to any decision on a ceasefire, because Kyiv benefits from escalation.

“On our part, two new projects were sent to update ceasefire measures. Because the Ukrainian representatives did not quite understand the meaning of the verification clause, we clarified it and spelled it out in more detail. But we have not yet received a response from the Ukrainian side, which, in principle, is quite logical - Ukraine needs escalation, and it is following the path of escalation of the conflict,” Nikonorova summed up.
