The so-called “silence regime,” which was introduced today in the area of the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha at the request of the Ukrainian side, did not lead to real results. Ukrainian nationalists prohibit civilians from leaving cities, using them as a human shield.
This was stated at a briefing in Moscow by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“Not a single civilian was able to leave the declared security corridors. The population of these cities is being held by Ukrainian nationalists as a “human shield”. Ukrainian nationalists took advantage of the “regime of silence” to strengthen their positions. Due to the reluctance of the Ukrainian side to influence the nationalists or extend the “regime of silence,” offensive actions have been resumed,” Konashenkov said.
