Director Mikhail Wasserbaum spoke about the importance of the film “Sunshine”
Director "Sunshine» Mikhail Wasserbaum spoke about the significance of the film, based on real events in Lugansk in 2014.
For Wasserbaum this was the first such project. He had never worked with such a heavy subject before. At the same time, already by trailer the viewer can understand that there are many intense scenes in "Sunny Day".
“The film turned out to be quite frank. When the working material was viewed by people who were faced with the real situation in Lugansk, they said that in reality everything was even tougher,” the director noted.
Wasserbaum also spoke about the difficulties of the production process. Due to tight deadlines, editing of the film had to begin before filming was completed. In addition, the director filmed scenes with tanks for the first time.
In conclusion, he explained why the film is worth seeing.
“Despite the fact that the film itself is difficult, everyone needs to watch it. Firstly, so that this does not happen again, because the movie is about a civil war, when banditry comes to the surface. It’s also about people who sometimes make mistakes in their assessments of what’s happening,” Wasserbaum said.
The main character of “The Sun” is former Afghan Vlad Novozhilov. He and his family are trying to travel abroad to escape the consequences of the May 2014 protests in the LPR. However, the border turns out to be blocked. Therefore, the head of the family has to make a difficult choice, on which the fate of his wife and son depends.
