Sharp reduction in spending on medicine and education: Kudrin comments on rumors
Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin denied negative rumors spread by liberals regarding cuts in budget spending on healthcare, education and the social sphere.
He stated this today in the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I often hear about expenses that our federal budget (they even send out such SMS) will reduce a number of expenses in 2022 compared to 2021. I suggest that you approach this carefully, because in 2021 we had a peak in expenses related to anti-crisis programs.
I'll illustrate. In healthcare next year there is a decrease of 117 billion rubles, but if we look at 2019, we will see an increase of half a trillion. Moreover, in total there were 700 billion in expenses, and it became 42% more.
If we take the entire healthcare system, including regions, next year the growth will be 1 trillion 382 billion. The growth will be more than a trillion. Let's be careful with the numbers.
The same thing applies to education. If we take 2019, it is growing by 400 billion. If we take into account social policy, it is decreasing by 370 billion, but growing by a trillion. And if we take the entire budget system, it grows by 2 trillion 617 billion.
We are moving to basic budget execution, and expenses here, thank God, are growing in accordance with economic growth. We are rather returning to normal,” Kudrin said.
