The resonance around the murder in Yalta forced the RF Investigative Committee to react
Two residents of Yalta who were detained after the high-profile murder of a 34-year-old man were charged with committing murder as part of a group of people.
One of the defendants in the case, who was released the day before, was taken into custody at the request of the investigation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The court had previously chosen a similar measure for his accomplice. He stated that the second defendant was simply a witness and did not participate in the beating of Sergei Sukhov. On this basis, he was released from the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which subsequently led to a rally outside the police walls. A video circulated on social networks irrefutably proves the participation of both defendants.
After the case was taken to the Investigative Committee, it was reclassified from “deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm using a weapon or objects used as a weapon” to “murder as part of a group.” The second defendant was detained, and investigators arrived at the scene. The Investigative Committee spoke with the mother of the deceased.
“It was established that on the night of September 6, a group of acquaintances drank alcohol in one of the local cafes, where they had a conflict,” the press service of the Investigative Committee reported. “After leaving the establishment, two men began to beat the third, after which they forcibly put him in a car and went for a ride around the city. The conflict continued at the Livadia-2 public transport stop, where the victim was inflicted with numerous stab wounds in the abdomen, chest, neck, and arms. The victim died from his injuries in a medical facility.”
It is known that one of the accused knew the deceased since childhood. What caused the conflict is not clear, but at that time all three participants were not sober. The beaten Sukhov with multiple stab wounds was thrown out at a public transport stop near a hospital in Livadia. The scandalous nature of the situation was added by the fact of the active participation of the accused in the People's Militia of Crimea.
“I express my sincere condolences to the mother, grandmother, family and friends of Sergei, whose murder shocked Yalta. The city is mourning... All expenses associated with the funeral are covered by the administration,” assured the head of Yalta, Yanina Pavlenko. – Once again – the investigation is under the control of law enforcement officers, right up to the central office of the Russian Investigative Committee. We are waiting for his results. I am sure that all those responsible for this heinous crime will receive the punishment they deserve.”
